Christopher House, Artistic Director of Toronto Dance Theatre, invited me to create a new work for the company for “Four at the Winch 2009”. Assembly is inspired by the cultures, histories, memories and dreams of the five cast members. The piece provides a forum for these diverse experiences to intersect. Through language, song, text, and movement, Assembly explores the complexity and beauty of a multiethnic society.
